Privacy Policy
Seam Allowance is operated by Suni Creative Company Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"), a corporation incorporated under the laws of Ontario, Canada.
Effective Date: July 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Seam Allowance application ("Service") at app.seamallowance.ca. We are committed to complying with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario privacy law.
By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information in the following ways.
Information you provide directly. When you create an account, you provide your name, email address, and a password (stored as a one-way cryptographic hash — we never store your password in plain text). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account identifier from Google's OAuth service. When you set up your Business Profile within the app, you may optionally provide your business name, contact name, phone number, mailing address, and website.
Information generated by your use of the Service. This includes the business data you create and store within the Service — styles, fabrics, projects, purchase orders, supplier contacts, tag inventory, and any files you upload (such as fabric order invoices or business logos). This data belongs to you (see Section 4) and is processed solely to provide the Service.
Subscription and billing information. When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number or payment card details on our servers. We receive from Stripe a customer identifier, subscription status, plan tier, and billing interval, which we store to manage your account.
Usage and technical information. We may collect standard server log data including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and pages visited within the Service. This information is used for security, debugging, and improving the Service. We do not use third-party analytics trackers or advertising networks.

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances.

Business transfers. If Suni Creative Company Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of its assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you by email and/or a prominent notice within the Service before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Your Data Belongs to You
All business data you create within the Service — styles, fabrics, projects, purchase orders, supplier contacts, inventory records, and uploaded files — is owned by you. We process it solely to provide the Service and will not use it for any other purpose. Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (for example, financial records related to billing).
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except that:
we may retain billing records and transaction history for up to 7 years as required by Canadian tax law;
we may retain server logs for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes;
we may retain anonymized, aggregated data (which cannot identify you) indefinitely for service improvement purposes.
6. Security
We take the security of your personal information seriously. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS), bcrypt password hashing, JWT-based session authentication, and access controls limiting who within our organization can access personal data.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you become aware of any security vulnerability or breach, please contact us immediately at hello@seamallowance.ca.
7. Cookies and Session Storage
The Service uses a session cookie (sa_session) to keep you logged in. This is a strictly necessary cookie required for the Service to function — it does not track you across other websites and is not used for advertising. We do not use any third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels.
8. Your Rights
Under PIPEDA and applicable Ontario law, you have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you;
Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information;
Withdraw consent to our processing of your personal information (subject to legal or contractual restrictions);
Request deletion of your personal information, subject to our retention obligations described in Section 5;
Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) if you believe we have not handled your personal information in accordance with applicable law.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@seamallowance.ca. We will respond to your request within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us at hello@seamallowance.ca and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page and notify you by email or by a prominent notice within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
